Sketch has been the sole development team creating a single platform for this company’s many brokerages. The brokerages rely on the platform to quickly analyze and aggregate data, which is integral when assessing and distributing risk. The platform addresses many challenges, including Carrier Evaluations, Claims Management, Coverage Negotiation, Policy Evaluation, and more. To ensure this product provides real-time information for its users, it relies on several data integrations and automated data ingestion.
The client had many disparate resources that needed to be pooled together to make appropriate risk assessments before offering policies at specified prices. They wanted a custom, low-cost, reliable solution to bring all the pertinent data together. Creating a single source of truth would enable their risk managers to generate accurate quotes faster than their competitors.
Interestingly, this client has no internal IT department of their own to manage or maintain any infrastructure. The lack of internal software development resources adds another layer to the challenge: the platform must be especially intuitive and low-maintenance.
This was a perfect job for an AWS Partner. Sketch designed, architected, and built both the infrastructure and software application for them. We leveraged many of AWS’ managed services including ElasticBeanstalk, RDS for MySQL, S3 for data storage, and Lambda for low-cost, event-driven computations. All of these services help offload any maintenance or management burdens, negating the potential risks or downsides this client might otherwise face because they don’t have their own IT.
Experienced AWS developers provided the client with a cloud-native software application that was highly resilient, fault-tolerant, secure, and performant. We were able to leverage the flexibility and scalability of AWS to enable faster deployment cycles while building the software solution to get optimal client feedback and build the exact solution they needed.
The client has an application that’s been running in a production environment for six months without any downtime. Sketch leveraged SAML integration with Office365 and AWS’ Cognito so the client could leverage single-sign-on without extra burden of user management. ElasticBeanstalk and RDS have been performing automated updates, patching, and backups. In other words, the client gets everything it needs, and doesn’t have to hire any extra FTEs to maintain the solution.
